Lazy Days for you and me June 7, 2008

The time has come the walrus said to talk of many things; of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings. Or more directly, my impending absence. We will be leaving tomorrow or the next day to go the the family reunion. The actual reunion isn’t till next weekend, but the tradition is to go camping at the lake where we hold it for at least a week beforehand. A really nice chance to get out in the middle of nowhere and just chill. We go sea doing, swimming, there’s a 30 foot john boat (YEAH thats a beast!) that we pull kids around on innertubes with and go fishing in. We go to Lake Pomme De Terre (For those of you who don’t speak french, Apple of the Earth or….Potato Lake) and just relax. No cell phone service for miles, the nearest store an hour away and the nearest Wal Mart close to 2 hours away. B E A utiful!!! And Jarell and I have plans to return to Springfield and visit the ginormous aquarium at the Bass Pro Shops original store. I’ve been looking forward to all of this since last year’s reunion ended. I am a strangely outdoorsy type girl given the right circumstances and these certainly fit the bill. Since there is no cell phone service for T-Mobile (the only people we knew to get signal had Verizon) I will also not have internet service so I’ll be gone for a week or so. I’m taking the laptop to use for burning pictures to disks when everyone takes them with digital cameras. One of the nice traditions is a huge family picture and I want copies for next year as I wouldn’t be surprised if either Jarell and I or his mom and dad get nominated to be the president again as we do it so well. Since I will be gone, I want to say Happy Father’s day now and not be late about it.

I may be back later or tomorrow, but we’re going to be BUSY getting everything together that we’ll need and I got sick again last night so I’m not moving at full speed. Take care all and have a happy weekend!
