Well today was a nice day of laziness and  shopping. We hung out in our pj’s most of the morning and afternoon. The temp hit the triple digits so we stayed in for the most part. Jarell cooked breakfast which is always a nice treat. We went to one of my favorite antiques stores this afternoon and he surprised me with some spending money for whatever I want which is even better than breakfast. I got some old advertising tear sheets that made me grin. Got some stuffing for my sewing projects. Came home and harvested some poor tomatoes that had split open due to all this nasty heat. Watched some tv, had a good dinner, basically a very nice day. Went downstairs once the sun went down to take some food out to the dogs, opened the door and there were all the dogs, escaped from their fence for the 5th time in 2 days (despite us blocking the hole they got out of yesterday) and a half dead baby bunny that ran in the opened door away from danger. I hurried up and fed the dogs and ran back inside (and no their not that underfed that they have to eat the wildlife, this was a hunting lesson from mommy to babies). There huddled in a little ball was the baseball sized lump was a torn and tattered baby bunny. I hollered at Jarell and he came down, grabbed an old pair of jeans for something to pick the little bit up with and put it in a big tupperware storage container. I stood by babbling and crying over the poor little thing while my darling dearest rationalized that the little guy wouldn’t want to eat when he’s this freaked out. I screamed a little when I realized that one of its back legs was snapped in half. Oh god I’m freakin out. I know without medical help its unlikely that it will survive, but I want to help it out if I can. Any suggestions folks? I’m all torn up about the poor baby. If it hadn’t been alive, I wouldn’t have minded, because thats what happens in nature, but oh when the poor little one has suffered and been played with because its a teaching experience for the puppies….. thats more than I can handle. Urg….
